WHY YOU NEED ATHLETIC COMPRESSION

Edema + Swelling in Athletes

Some serious endurance athletes experience swelling or edema in the lower legs. This can occur due to a build-up in fluids in your thighs or calves after overexerting your muscles or minimal tearing or damage to the muscle fibers. This swelling can last several hours to several days before your body has adequately repaired the damage and the swelling subsides.

HOW WE CAN HELP

Provide Relief for Athletic Swelling + Edema

Compression socks and hosiery can help relieve edemas by improving circulation, encouraging blood and fluids to move throughout the body instead of pooling in the lower limbs. Therafirm compression products like TheraSport® and Core-Sport feature true gradient compression meaning that the compression is greatest at the ankle and gradually decreases as it moves higher on the leg. Wearing compression post workout can prevent muscle fatigue, speed up recovery and lessen swelling.
